What it is
Not an exam.
An ambush.
On the Edge is an annual tech competition developed by Exodust for university students, created to develop the upcoming generation of professionals and give them an experience of real-world professional problem solving.
Participants are placed in unfamiliar situations where they have to research, think, collaborate, make decisions and develop solutions under pressure.
This year’s school is Babcock University, and six of its students will progress to the final competition.

Eligible Babcock University students can apply when applications open. Six students progress to the final competition, and are split into two teams of three. Competitors do not choose their teammates and do not meet them beforehand.
Winning team takes
₦500,000Other cash prizes will also be won throughout the competition.
How do you get there?

Submissions are reviewed. Six applicants progress.
The final six
The six finalists complete student and identity verification.
Teams are drawn
The six are split into two teams. They meet at the competition.
The competition
The main project is revealed. Both teams research, decide and build.
The finale
Both teams defend their project before the panel. One team wins.

The Babcock University Computer Club (BUCC) is the university community partner for On the Edge 2027, connecting the competition with the Babcock student community.
The panel
Judged by senior professionals.
On the Edge is judged by a panel of senior professionals in the tech industry. They are introduced to the finalists on the first day of the competition, in the On the Edge house.
