The programme
About On the Edge.
Through the fire, and out refined. Why the competition exists, and what it asks of the students who enter it.
On the Edge is an annual tech competition developed by Exodust and targeted at university students, with the purpose of developing the upcoming generation of professionals and giving them a taste of what real-world professional life, pressure and challenges look like.
The competition empowers students with experiences that strengthen their thinking structure and problem-solving abilities and prepare them to operate beyond the level typically expected of an intern.
Participants are pushed outside their comfort zones and required to research, think, work with others, make decisions and solve problems in real time.
On the Edge is ultimately about developing professionals who have been through the fire, made it through and come out refined, better equipped for the realities of the professional world.
The shape of it
One edition, every year.
- /On the Edge happens annually. It is not a one-off competition.
- /Each edition may have its own location and eligibility requirements. Where the competition is hosted determines who can take part that year.
- /2026 is the Lagos edition. Open to students attending universities in Lagos State, Nigeria.
- /It combines professional development, technology, teamwork and problem solving. Participants are judged on their thinking as much as on what they build.
